Since 1990, the Colonial Soil and Water Conservation District (District) has provided assistance to its localities in the form of Soil and Water Quality Conservation Planning for compliance with local Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act ordinances.  Historically, the Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Department (CBLAD) has provided funding for development of these plans.  Unfortunately, in 2002, the Virginia General Assembly failed to provide the funding necessary to continue this program.   In an attempt to honor our commitment to local stakeholders, the District Board of Directors adopted a policy, which allows District staff to develop Soil and Water Quality Conservation Plans for a fee of $30.00 per hour.  If you are required, by local ordinance, to have a Soil & Water Quality Conservation Plan written for your property, please contact the Colonial SWCD at (804) 932-4376.
